The debut release from the mid-noughties.

FISHPASTE – A simple tune written in about ten minutes. Inspired musically by The Divine Comedy but owing a little bit to the FYC tune “Good Thing” (or so we’ve been told). This song has never really been recorded to the bands satisfaction, so the version presented here is a demo from yesteryear.

Fishpaste itself is a song about blind devotion, about allowing yourself to be spoon-fed an idea without questioning the motives or reason behind something. A statement about the nature of fandom and how the audience, particularly of manufactured karaoke bands and how once they’ve got a following can pretty much release anything safe in the knowledge that the sheep that buy their records will buy it regardless of the quality or worth. Example: ‘I have a dream’ by Westlife.

TELL NO ONE – The thorny subject of an abusive male relative getting his comeupance with a pair of garden shears.

(SLOWLY EXPLODING) FRUSTRATION – When life threatens to boil over

DO YOU REMEMBER WHERE YOU LEFT IT – A homage to a mis-spent youth.
